PARENTS as READING PARTNERS

The PARP Committee is co-chaired by Charlotte Rowe, Kym August, and Ian Berger.  It initiates and supports language arts-related PTA activities throughout the school year, but it all comes together in a week-long celebration of reading and writing called "PARP." 

In 2011-2012 PARP will be held November 14-18.  PARP week includes several DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) sessions where parents can come into the school to read with or alongside their children; author visits and workshops (Todd Strasser and Ron Roy will be coming during PARP this year!); evening family events; Poetry Slam Cafe for middle schoolers' and many other activities that encourage reading and writing.  Please volunteer for this committee if you love language arts and want to see more language arts-related PTA activities.
